    Default car wont move

ok where to begin. My VS was jumping into gear, thinking it was low transmission oil so I topped it up and still continued to do the same thing. THEN it got to the point where it wouldnt move by accelerating...3000rpms and it started to slowly move...Now the gear box has been recond and it is still doing the same thing. The shaft isnt turning either. We jacked up the back put it in reverse and one wheel turned but not the other. WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE?? Has it got something wrong with my diff? If not then what is it??PLEASE HELP!!!

Only one wheel is supposed to turn unless you have a limited slip diff, but lets assume you dont.

Does the car drive OK in drive, or doesnt it go anywhere at all?

Could be a power issue. When l had minimal power in my commy, it wouldn't change from first (auto) and it would hardly go anywhere.
I'm not saying its not the diff, but l would lean towards a transmission problem....

What you can do to test the diff is to jack it up (both rear wheels), stick it in N and spin the wheels by hand. Try one side in a forwards motion, the other wheel should start spinning backwards and the shaft heading into the trans should spin as well.

Sounds like the bands in the gear box are stretched, sounds like the gear box might need a service.

Does it move when its warm?
Thats all right, thats ok, I drive a commodore anyway!!!!

    Thumbs up

Its driving!!!YEP everything is sweet now. Rang the guy who recond the gearbox and he asked how much trans oil we had put in so we need another 2 litres. I knew it would be something small and silly. Well Iam happy now and I reckon I did ok for a female!!!
Thanks to the others who offered there imput on the whole thing too!!!

    cheers
