vr wont crank over

i drove my car home last night from work and every thing was fine. I went to
start it this morning to go to work and it cranked over but cut out before it started and now it wont even crank, i have all dash lights, please help asap

Sounds like you have a dead battery or starter motor. Try to jumpstart the car from another battery or put another battery in. If she starts, problem was the battery. Could also be that your alternator isnt charging the battery, so you might just need a repair on that. Easiest way to check is using a multimeter or voltmeter, do you have one of those?

So very likely that your starter motor is dead or alternator. If its starter motor you dont have much chance, if its alternator, swapping battery should get you through the day, not much else though.

there also is a high pitch noise coming from the top center pulley (alt) from the black box on the back, the battery is brand new the car started to crank then died???

all fixed there was a wire on the starter motor covered in corrosion, thanks for your help
