My vs is making a ticking sound when on accessory, it seems to be coming from somewhere around the air filter box.
anyone know what this is?
could be your IAC (idle air control) mounted in ur throttle body, winding in and then winding out. its just resetting itself so it can idle when it starts. totally normal.
if not, remove ur wrist watchis that the only place u can hear it? its hard to flick it to acc, and then run round an listen

hope that helps
IAC shouldn't be powered on accessories or is it???? Its not a dud electric aerial trying to go up/down?
ahh yes ur right, sorry bout that was thinking ignition, next click of the key..
would go with hako's post!!
Nope I don't have an electric aerial. Could it be something to do with the lpg system
If its LPG then I think you have a few relays that operate the changeover from petrol to gas and maybe they are still active when on accessories although you'd imagine that they'd only be active when ignition is on but then.....
My car is on gas and i have never herd a ticking noise when on accessory, but now i will have to have a listen tommorow
The LPG flows through a number of solenoids valves operated switches, mainly being a safety lock When your ignition is switched on for either Petrol or LPG, you will hear a clicking noise; made by the solenoid switches that operate the fuel supply lines. As one opens up then other one closes, and visa verse, some times these little suckers can play up, so best to keep a spare one handy in the glove box.
I won't dispute the LPG comments, but another possibility is your injectors firing. mine did when they were stuffed. changed tehm for s/h good cond and the ticking stopped
