I bought a vs s ute yesterday and want to lower it. Does anybody know if the s pac had fe2 suspension as i've been told it does but i have my doubts as it sits high. Also will King Spring Ultra Lows go in the rear of the VS because the catalog has VG-VR and not VS, Ultra Low Part no. KHPR-24SSL.
any help would be great thanks!
I can't answer the question on fe2 suspension but the standard height for the front on a Vr~Vs ute is 400mm from guard lip to the center of the wheel, on the rear it's 385mm from guard lip to the center of the wheel, so compare the height of yours to these dimentions.
If you are going for ultra lows you will have to change the rear shocks to shorter ones to stop the rear springs from falling out, shorter bump stops and depending on what wheels you have an adjustable panhard bar.
Just make sure when the ute hits the bump stops that the tailshaft does not hit under the floor when it's lowered, if it does it will soon cut out the front diff seal and it will start leaking.
On the rear of my ute I used Pedders 2152 springs with EP385/10 top spring insulator, that lowered it by 45mm with a guard lip to wheel center of 340mm, the springs go loose but won't fall out with the standard shocks, shortened Pedders bump stops to suit are part number 5850.
Front has been lowered by 40mm (360mm from guard lip to wheel center) using Lovells HFL-76 as I wanted a spring that was no harder ride than the standard ute spring, with Monroe Gas struts in the front as well it's firm enough anyway.
Photo without canopy is lowered, Photo with canopy is standard height.
