    Unhappy VR Steering Rack

Have had to top up the power steering fluid up twice within the week, first time had to add almost a full 500ml bottle and then another 200ml about 2 days later. Rang the family mechanic who said it was probably the steering rack. After a bit of research on here i decided to go and check the steering boots. Both of which were full of fluid. So i´m guessing that it is a rack. What sort of money does it look i´m up for? I´m taking the car to the mechanic tomorrow morning for the bad news

If you're not planning on keeping the car for long or spending $$$ on it you could try a bottle of power steering stop leak - it can work and save you $$$$. I've used it in a few cars and had no problems.

it wont take long to replace

u have to jack it up from the front both sides...

then u take ur front wheels off...

    take off the split pins...

un bolt tht one bolt...both sides...

then u unclip it im not sure if theres another bolt couldnt see where i was standing....

then change ova n reverse ur steps...
