    Smile Researching Auto/Manual for Turbo

    Hey guys,

After reading a lot about turbo'ing a VS over the last few months I've decided that I might give it a crack in the next half-year to a year. Its a long process, I defiantly wont be rushing it. One of my main things that I am wondering about is the transmission, obviously the extra boost is going to hammer it pretty bad. I've looked at converting my car into a manual before doing the turbo, or shift-kitting the auto I have now. What would be the better idea overall? I know that the manual conversion is going to be around $2000 or more, however the shift-kit could only be in the $1000 area.

Oh, other question is that I really should get a LSD as well before I look at the turbo'ing correct?

you can build an auto to handle alot more power than a T5 lol.... the price of the clutch is the killer with high powered manuals.... plus with the auto you can ahve a high stall so theres bugger all lag to get it moving quicker.

it really depends on the power levels your aiming for. personally i'd have a manual over an auto any day, more fun to drive. best person to talk to about upgrading an auto would be sircruisealotVS he's got a fully worked auto for his stroker V6

Hmm ok. I guess the largest problem with a manual is being in Adelaide sourcing a T5 is next to impossible.
