Hello everyone,
I want to fit a corvette servo to increase the pressure in the gearbox. I found this one on ebay any good?

How much to get fitted?
Thanks,

I got quoted $130 with part and labour, just got my gearbox renewed and the trans guy said that he didn't recommend this kit, he said second gear will to sharp and you will starting spinning wheels at second gear which will kill the transmission in the long run.
Cool thanks mate

the corvette servo is awesome!! i have one, best thing i got! at over 1/2 throttle, its a nice punch when it changes into 2nd, and chirps everynow n again. but if your baby'n it around u hardly know its there, just firm 2nd gear.
awesome, very recommended!
would you say it increases the pressure in the gearbox when you launch?

i dont believe the corvette servo actually increases line pressure in the box, its really only to hold the gear better between 1-2, resulting in a firmer shift.
if you wanted to increase line pressure and make all the shifts a little tighter you'd need a boost valve installed.
most likely if your not keen on a full shift kit, id say to get both a corvette servo and a boost valve installed.

A corvette servo will only effect the 1-2 shift, a shift kit effects all forward gears. The corvette servo has a deffined amount of grab which cannot be changed at all, where as you can play with the force of the shift with a shift kit (valve body) through different designs and check balls. The shift kit works on applying different pressures, the corvette servo on the amount of grab on the bands.

Thanks for the info guys (sorry sircruise cannot add rep)
I'm just looking for cheap solutions until I can afford a full rebuild. Getting married this year so I want to go as far as possible on a tight budget till after the wedding.

had one in car they feel awesome but not to good for box, if you do put it in make sure the tranny cooloer line clamps are on tight cause it does increase pressure and therefore blows cooler lines off. Its happend to my mate in a vp!!
installing a corvette 2nd servo, does not increase line pressure! it only increases the surface area of the servo that the fuild can 'push' against givin you a firm shift. the next stage up from the corvette servo is the billet servo, which has a larger surface again, which inturn will give u a firmer shift.
Has anyone fitted their own corvette servo?

I just got 1 off ebay and am goin to fit it in the next couple of weeks, I asked the guy at Trick Shift and he said if you know your way around a car it shouldnt be a problem to do yourself.
My brother has put bought one, will see how he goes installing it. Will post results.
Yours Kindly,
Jim
I put my piston in yesterday and I am very happy with the results, its not that hard to do but can get very annoying putting the e-clip and circlip back in as you have very little room to work. I should be getting the boost valve next week as well so I will tell you how much of a difference it makes.
Cheers
TJ
