Hey guys...about a year ago i was stupid enough to lose control of my VS in the wet, and ended up scraping the gutter at relatively low speeds. Although there was no major damage to the car, the mag wheels were scratched by the incident.
Now my question is - is there any way that the wheels can be repaired? If so can the repair be done by myself? Or can it be done professionally by a company (im located in VIC)?
Thanks in advance...
Yeah that sort of minor damage can be fixed quite easily. I live in NZ so I couldn't tell you where to look in Vic. Its best to get them done professionally as the tires have to come off anyway. Basically they will remove the tire, spin up the mag on a lathe and machine up the face. They will also "repaint" the mag, if the mag is not repainted it the repair will stick out like a sore thumb (not to mention allow corrosion)
I had one of mine done last year (alot more damage that yours, huge chunks missing which required welding to fill) it came up looking like brand new and it was less than NZ$30
Oh, very nice...sounds good to me. Its cheaper than i thought too. Does anybody know where i can get this done in victoria then?
