here is my vs berlina with superlow king springs at the fronts and ultra lows at the back, you need an adjustable panhard rod. ive also got shorter rear shocks. i havnt done the front shocks yet will change them soon though. this pic is when i first put the ultras in the back its gone down a bit more.

the other pic is when i had superlows all-round.

Hi mate and welcome. I am running the same set-up, spring wise as vs-berlina, and you will need to go lower with the back springs than the front in order to get the tyres to have the same spacing (none) with all four gaurds. For some reason if you use the same height springs all round the rear end winds up being noticably higher than the front and it just looks silly. I got the lowered kyb shocks all round and new nolathane bushing and tie rods in the front end. The whole thing cost me about 1200 fitted i think, it was a few years ago. That price was with no panhard rod though. As far as a good hieght goes, well thats personal preference, i have to negotiate most speed humps and driveways on a huge angle at like 1km/h so as to not scrape my front bar but if you don't have a deep body kit then everyday obsticles are not too much of an issue, however if your running a stock exhaust you will prob end up re-shaping it a little bit on the odd speed bump, as it hangs pretty low around the box. Ride height all depends how willing you are to be careful negotiating speed bumps etc at low speed in order to to enjoy the benefits at the other end of the scale. Definately get a good set of shorter stiffer shocks and don't under estimate the value of upgrading your old half perished stocko bushes or you won't see the full benifits of lowereing your car! As far as pics go click the link in my signature to suss my car out. Hope this helps a little!

Yeah i was thinking some king super low in the front and ultra low in the back with shortened shocks and an adjustable panhard rod. Then I was going to put some 18's on my baby. What do you think?
Your car looks very nice that's what I want mine to look like.... How much are a set of kings? What shocks should I get and how much? Thanks for your reply love the vs :]

Yep yep, thats a great place to start! Oh and thanks for your feedback, it's always good hear. When you do this you have to do the suspension before the wheels because that whole big rims/std ride height look is just wrong! Plus you will get much more benifit from the doing suspension then you ever will from a set of rims and good tyres! As far as the kingy's go they are about $400 a set, with shocks I have a set of ultra rides in at the moment and they were only about $400 for the set! They are ok, nice and stiff, but the KYB's were def better and I think they were about $600 These are the only two brands i have tried so can't really pass comment on which shocks you should get.

are you a hands on type of person? if so you can attempt to install the rears ya self, really not that difficult as most would agree.

just need to have right tools.

go to the how to section, i am pretty sure i seen a post there with step by step instructions with pictures for the front and the back, but if your paying someone to do the front then i would buy all the parts and get it all installed at the same place, as they have better buying power then any one individual you can prob do a bit of bargaining and get it cheaper then if you bought the bits yourself and then paid some one to just do the front

I like your ride height VS Berlina....How does it handle??

I need to get mine lowered, but don't want it harsh.
My wife drives it on a daily basis, but I've got some VT SS wheels for it and can't leave it sky high

    Here's a pic:

Panther96 your probably best going with FE2 suspension or king low springs which will bring the height down 30mm or so and also stiffen it up a little without being harsh. You got some really nice paint there

Thanks Jon Z - It's a great car and the paint is A1

I'm pretty sure the shocks are rooted too. So I'll prob replace them at the same time. Might hit up Holden for prices on FE2 new...

gee38l, have you thought about FE2 suspension? Or you keen on going aftermarket.

    Cheers,
