HELP !! metalic clicking sound...

I got a 94 VR V8 heavly modified comodore and last week i heard this metalic clicking sound coming from the front of my engine somewhere and as i accelerate it gets faster and then my car conked out. Everytime i start it it does the sane thing and only stays on for a few seconds. Any idea's on what may be wrong with it ?

does it sound like its running on all 8 cylinders? could be a snapped/broken rocker or lifter, that would be my first guess.

Just make sure its comin from the front man, I had a clunking metallic sound the other nite, turned out one of the bolts in the rear end had come out and a little bracket was hitting the exhaust, which inturn caused it to lock up a bit, at first i thought the sound was in the front, turns out it wasn't.
I dunno, just an idea man... always helps to check out all options
