Hi i'm relatively new to the 5lt scene and my calais seems to have developed a problem..
It has happened 3 times now
1st- I had been driving for 20mins pulled up at a set of lights then the car just died
2nd- I hadn't even drivin the car and it wouldn't start it would just crank
3rd- I had started it and drivin not even 100m and the car just died.
The first and second time i managed to get it started by moving the ignition module plug on the right hand side of the car behind the airbox.
It wouldn't start the third time so the car was towed home.
I've checked the car for any error codes but the diag sys says the car is fine.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas?

hope it helps
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people
i'd be checking spark and fuel so check the pump make sure its priming, plugs and leads and also the dizzy.
We got rep back, yaaay!
i dunno if this helps, but sounds like its flooding fuel wise? is it running rich?
i had the same problem about a month or so ago, make sure the fuel pump buzzes, and it has spark, if there both ok, remove the fuel pump fuse and crank the car for a bit, if it starts, it means the engine is being flooded when you turn the key to the on position, to be sure of that you can lift one fuel rail (only 2 bolts hold it down) then turn the ignition to the "ON" position and if fuel squirts out (IT SHOULD NOT SQUIRT OUT UNTIL THE ENGINE IS CRANKED) it means your computer is stuffed, so go to a wreckers and get one V6 or V8 it doesn't matter, you just got to put your memcals into it. then see what happens.
i ahd raa check it and there is no spark from the leads and the car hasn't been running rich. I've been getting around the 500kmpt mark since i've had the car. The car has been booked into the local holden dealership to be looked at for nothing (cos i know the person) a couple of my mates think it could be the coils. All i know is that i want my 5lt back on the road by sunday for a cruise

hey. i was having problems with my vn calais it would randomly stop every now and then, the engine light would come on and a ticking noise would start in the dash some where. I would just let it sit unit the ticking stopped then the car would start fine. I replaced the crank angle sensor and that didnt help and then replaced the coil pack. It was working fine until now, it wont start at all. The hazards are flashing and the car is turning over but wont fire. I did a Assembly Line Diagnostic Link test and the first reading i got was 12 but then when i did it again it said 41 meaning the crank angle sensor. I have given the fuel pump a bash but still wont fire. any ideas
Could be crap clogging the fuel pump filter. You can hear it working but its not getting enough fuel thus ur car dies and keeps getting harder to re-start.Would explain why you have no error codes
