    Default Shuddering on take off

    Hi
My vs shudders on take off.(when you plant it). It feels like the power is abit on off and the steering wheel shakes abit aswell.
Has anyone else dealt with similar issues?
The engine is only 10,000kms old.
Would the transmission cause this problem? Maybe its slipping?
    Thanks for the help.

    John

check ther trans mount, it's probably shagged, engine mounts are probably on there way out also. the shudder on take off when pedaling it is quiet a common problem with the commodore

It common, nothing to worry too much, but if it a lot worse then its usually the mounts.
Might wanna go under and check the mounts. If the engine is fairly new then there should be new mounts installed anyway.

Sounds like the good old VN to VS and even onwards 'commodore shudder.'

Mine has a shudder on take off too, especially when you floor it, but as many others will say on here, just learn to live with it. People have replaced mounts, changed centre bearings, uni joints etc etc etc and it hasn't fixed the problem, or it has changed when the shudder occurs in the rev range. Mine briefly occurs at around 1700 rpm and then disappears about a second later. I have heard some reports that it could be something to do with the torque converter... but in the entire time I have had the car (almost 90,000km) the shudder hasn't got any worse.

i've managed to reduce mine somewhat but i've replaced all the mounts, done the driveshaft center hanger bearing and various bushes but never been able to get rid off it completly. it seems to be worst in the VS series cars (my VN is fine and it's still got many factory rubber bushes and it gets driven much harder) for what ever reason, some say it's because holden went to softer rubber bushes for a more compliant ride but fitting nolathane bushes should sort that problem. maybe it's more to do with the trans setup etc. who knows.

if oyu never had it and you have it now, you can probably get rid of it again bu repalcing various bit, if you always had it then i don't think your ever going to get rid of it completly, just reduce it to a minimum
