Default Vr series 1 and series 2 is their a differance int the motor???

    hello ppls.

im in the middle of putting a new motor in my 1994 vr series 1, to recently i put a manual trans in it and i think that was wat killed my last motor, but i seemed like it was on its way out anyways. anyway to the point. is their a differance between the series 1 and 2. if yes then wat are they. i was told that the series one cant handly a manual trans to it full protencial and most of them cark it. something to do with the crank or cam one of them 2.

but yer wats the differance between the series?
    cheers

    Exact same engine.

Onto the ecotec conversion, go have a look at Hozy's conversion into his vn, itll be pretty much the same thing for the vr.

Check this thread out, It goes through how to put an ecotec motor in a VN/VP, it shouldn't be very different: Ecotec to VN/VP

you can use the vr ecu still, just be prepared to do some adding of sensors and changing of wires. the only difference i can think of, is the very first vr autos didnt get a cam angle sensor i "think", but other than that, theyre all the same through the vr. oh, and an updated casing on the alternator somewhere through the range.

18" Should be fine unless your car is lowered on its tits and i mean to the state were it pretty much touch's the ground.

Incorrect. In Vic it can be any size as long as the overall diameter remains within 15mm.

Only SA still uses the 2 inch law.
