    Default vr heater blower

Hi all, i have a vr series 1 v6 and my problem is that sometimes my air con / heater fan works and sometimes it doesn't. it may work for a few days ok, and then like this afternoon wouldn,t come on untill i had been driving for 15 minutes. i have replaced the resistor thing in front of the windscreen but don't know what else to check.I presume it,s a poor contact somewhere. Any ideas please?

I'd be checking the actual switch for the fan, as well as checking out the wiring and connections and the fan itself. Might also be worth checking the BLOWER relay under the bonnet too, try swapping it with another known working relay, I think the HORN one is suitable.

Thanks Harvs82, i checked everything you suggested, but i think it is a problem with the ignition switch, because if i wiggle the key around when it is in the ignition it seems to make the fan come on.

Funny you mention that... because its exactly what happened with my old car, a TX5 Telstar... except that most of the accessories didnt work, but giggling the key around, or just turning the key a bit further forward... I think the problem ended up being a worn out key, but maybe your barrel is stuffed, or something isn't making proper contact...
