Hey i just bought some calibre xenon blue globes and put them in and they are white. The case says Xenon Blue blue/white globes and the glass bit is blue. Is there a way to make them blue or are they always going to be white?

some of those globes have a blue tinge to them but typically glow a bright white. its how it is. can get booked if they came up bluish anyway.

Same with the philips blue vision or whatever they are. They call them blue, they coat the glass with a blue tint, but thats about the only thing that will ever be blue about them. They will always show white light.

Just put some opaque blue paint on them

Thats not a good idea, they get quite hot. Ya don't wanna have the reflectors to lose its reflectivity if that paint burns.

I know this is a really old thread but the tint you see in light is known as Colour temerature.... Normal daylight is 5500 degrees kelvin on a sunny day. On a cloudy day the colour temerature is cooler and you get a blue tint, warmer and you get yellow.. You can get globes for your house that are cooler or warmer colours and shops use this to their advantage, mostly furniture shops to make the furniture "glow" and appear a better colour... If you own a digital camera turn auto white balance off and manually set it to outdoors (if you are outside) then set it to indoors and watch the colour change :D... just remember to change it back to auto after though ;)..

HERE is a link to a photo website that should explain it more... (please know I did not read the article but know through photography experiance)
