How to change the centre consol light bulb

How do you get to the centre consol light that illuminates the auto gear position indicator? What is the easiest way, I can feel it throught the ash tray but just can't get it out.

you have to remove the top around the shifter. pull it up from in front of the handbrake gently and it will pop off.
