Hey,
Just wandering if you can help. Same story as others about the interior fan that keeps on running, to stop it I pulled the blower relay but the fan kept on running so I the pulled the 30amp blower fuse to stop it. With the ignition off and fuse in but blower relay taken out the fan runs on low speed all the time. When ignition is on and the blower relay is in you can operate the climate control unit through all its speeds with no problem. So all speeds work OK. Turn climate control to off and the fan keeps running on low speed. Could it still be the speed amplifier that needs to be replaced? Is there a simple test that can determine it’s the amplifier? I have read, about people that have had the amplifier go and there fan runs on high speed where mine is running on low speed (but with car running and climate control is "on" it all works fine, all speeds work). Rang Holden and the amplifier cost around $171. I read an article and someone said you can buy from “tricky dicky” (don’t know who this is) has a Mosfet part BUK456-60A/H (cat No Z1820) that you can replace in the amplifier, do you know anything about this. Could it be the diode thats gone and not the mosfet. Has anyone actually made repairs to one to see if you can get it going. The parts only cost $10 or so. What a rip off, ah!![]()
If anyone is interested it turned out to be the fan amplifier's tranny. It's cooked. Can't find the part NEC D1297 or a replacement part that can handle the 25amps. Jacar said it's a DARLINGTON S1-N-Daul + Di 150V/25a 100w
very hard to find, so went and paid $171 for a newy. Problem fixed.
Hey, to find the 2SD1297 Darlington transistor...
For people in Melbourne you can get these from G.B. Spares. 500 Spencer St West Melbourne for $12.
For people in Sydney see http://www.wagner.net.au/ They wanted $9 or so and could post it out to anywhere in Australia for about $8.
I replaced mine the other day. Fairly straight forward procedure. The only tricky bit is unsoldering the Transistor from the circuit board and removing it from the heatsink assembly.
Hi, went out and bought the 2SD1297 Darlington transistor, installed it and reconnected the battery and the fan didn't switch on again so all good.
Except after we switched the car on and then turned it off again the fan kept on going so the fuse had blown again.
We put a new radio in about 1 week ago is there any way this could have stuffed it up?
If so how can I fix it or does it need a new part or take to an auto electrician?
rather than digging up a thread from 2005 it's prob a better idea to start your own thread.
Anyway if the things keeps blowing then you have fault elsewhere, defiantly look at your blower motor
