    Angry air cond .vs 1997

The air cond or fan only comes on when it feels like it. i know the air cond works. i know the fan works BUT if i dare touch the rear demister button all stops. Then when it feels like it it will turn on sometimes when requsted and work fine, air or heater, then when it feels like it it just stops and will not start at all. i think its a crook wire at the rear demister button, as this thing dont heat up at all. ps... fuses and relays are ok. ta!!!

Check the "LP-Check" relay, it is the small one next to the fuel pump relay.

It is wired in to stop the demister and fan from working when the engine is off and also turns on the brake warning light. When mine played up I had the exact same problems, fan would only work sometimes and would die completely if I tried to turn on the demister.

please need your help - i have the exact same problem and symptoms with a 95 vs wagon with no climate control - fan works at all speeds when it wants to regardless of a/c or heater and once you press the rear demister it quits. the rear demister doesn't work at all either. checked all fuses under the dash and bonnet and all are good. replaced ignition relay and had the LP Check relay checked while at JayCar with the multi meter and it worked fine and clicked like normal. read one post that said to solder a piece of wire to the grey/black wire from under ignition relay and connect it to the black one from the relay next to it - which one?? - directly across is the blower relay and next is the hi beam???? don't want to start wiring things and grounding things out. does this sound correct or what else could it be?? especially since the rear demister doesn't work at all but all fuses and relays are in good order......any ideas of where to troubleshoot next??? thanks

Using a multimeter to test a relay does not prove that the relay is good. As your problem is the same as the problem listed above replace or at least SWAP the relay and see how that goes.
