    Default Electric window conversion

Was wondering, with a electric window conversion do i have to replace the wireing loom in my car, or is it already there. Also will it work with my mid series BCM to do i have to go for hi. I have an acclaim if that makes any difference. Help will be appreciated, thanks.

Mid series bcm should be ok for power windows..check out for the 2 plugs in the console under the radio that go to the switches that will tell you if you have the wiring already in the loom ....if they are there all you have to do is install the motor units in the doors and install the switches in the console and the rear doors.....you will probably have to replace the looms in the rear doors for the rear motors and switches.

you were lucky , my ute didnt have any wiring , but i managed to get it as close to factory as possible..

Back on topic , check the underdash fuses , number 5 controls power windows , see if all the wiring is there for it , and the door plugs will have 2 thick wires ( cant remember colours ) in the middle of the plug..

I started a power window topic not that long ago , so if you do a search , all the info you need will be found
Its not what you know or who you know , its how well you can fake it

as posted by the guys above..

check u have both contacts in fuse position 5, and also the contacts in the power window relay. being an acclaim u should have the wiring under the console and in the doors. if your lucky u'll have the wiring in the B-Pillar. if not, u'll have to get the loom that runs from the kick panels to the B-pillar, and then the loom from the B-Pillar to the rear doors. i have an acclaim and the wiring was run to the pillars. i extended the wiring into the doors, and semi-bypassed the bcm. the only feature i dont have is the auto down. but the power windows work when the doors are unlocked and is time limited as is the interior light.

    Parts u'll need:
    4 window regs
    switches
    circuit breaker (fuse)
    relay
couple packs of 5mm bolts about 20mm long
    couple packs of 5mm nuts
some male & female spade terminals if u extend wiring urself not using a loom.
    time and paitence.

the HOW-TO is a good guide gettin it all in there.. post up for all or PM me if u need a lil more info with the bcm bypass
