Whats causing the beeping!!?

Only started today, drove her for a few meters and she started beeping at me (the sound it makes when you have your handbrake on).

Every 2-3 minutes it beeps again.

Also the light on the dash doesn't come on anymore when you do put the handbrake on.

Where do I start?

hi, try changing the globe in the cluster for the handbrake. had the same problem and this fixed it for me

if that doesnt work unplug it... if that doesnt work then u have the same problem as me... and in that case i cant help u :P

it's a sticky switch. the switch is sticking and the car thinks the handbrake is on. put a little bit of oil into it. also check the bulbs as above

my dad in his vr had a problem with the little toggle switch under the trim i just pulled of the trim and adjusted the switch to where it needed to be so the light wouldnt come on when the hand break was off

hey how did you adjust the damned thing, I need to pull the switch out of mine to reconnect the wire, any advise would be great as I dont want to be pulling the seats and the heandbrake lever all out.

okay i replaced all the globes behind the dash, fixed the beeping problem!

now that all my warning lights are working i see that my airbag light isn't going off.. it just stays on (no beeps) do i need to get the airbag looked at/serviced or something?

yeah the airbag light indicates a problem with the air bag, probably needs a code cleared unless you're positive all the other bulbs are ok of course

Airbag light can only be reset by Holden. While they are at it, they will check for errors. You didn't do a stereo install and turn the key on while the airbag was disconnected?

2 seperate friend had the air bag light come on both of their cars.
Turned out to be alternator for one of them???
The other guy was a stereo job like NAAF says!

My airbag light came on when I was swapping relays around under the dash-I was fixing my blinkers,Buggered relay.- Went to Holden,they said come back in two days,Typical .Needed it fixed for rego,so I went up the road to ultratune.They plugged their computer in under the dash,One minute and the light was off and all fixed. It had logged an error in the srs system.I learnt my lesson ,Don't pull relays out from under your dash unless the key is OFF.

eep.. more problems (this one seems to have started when i took out the dash face) cruise control turns on (green light on dash), but orange light flashes on then off when i try to set the speed..
