sounds like your typical link pin bush problem man. when your link pin bushes are ****ed there will be a clunk/thud sound when turning out of corners.
its a pretty common commodore problem, if it happens again after replacing the bushes you could try for a heavy duty link pin kit which is much better than the stock item, and quite cheap too.

Where does the noise sound like it's coming from ? I've got a similiar problem with a VR and IRS. I've replaced the link pins and the noise is still there.

My mechanic can't find anything....it comes and goes mostly when entering and existing roundabouts...the noise also changes location, sometimes in the rear and sometimes coming from the footwells.

Thudding could be the exhaust, but more likely the centre bearing mount on the tail shaft.

Another thing is the top mounts on the control arms on the diff.

Hey guys thanx 4 all the input um well it does seem to change location, i have checked the exhaust, the top mounts not to sure if i looked at the link pin bush. So ill take a look and let you know what i find if it keeps it up, i might have to take it to a holden dealership. Thanx lads.

Twice I had that problem - first time it was the spare not properly secured and flopping about and second time it was 9KG gas cylinder rolling around. I hope yours is as simple.
