Hi all,
Seeing every clubsport and quite a few utes without those strips that go on the door, I thought I would give it a try to my VS. That was a big mistake! We just took the strip off one of the guards and found not only double sided tape (which was expected) but urethane. Cleaned it up, now I need to get some double sided tape and re-attach the strip. Removing those strips is going to take sanding back and re-painting ![]() Was curious, on the doors did they use urethane as well? And with the HSV's did Holden give them to HSV without the strips? How about the utes? Are they factory without strips or did they all remove the strips themselves? Thanks |

Have you tried using a caramel wheel to remove the strips.

just to clear the above up, use a caramel wheel to clean the crap UNDER the strips off. Would be hell funny to watch someone try to grind the strips away to nothing with a caramel wheel.

LOL! Yeah I figured out that it's used after the strips are removed.. just a final question if you'll allow me to annoy you one more time - where can I get this "caramel wheel" from? Bunnings? Is it like those rubber wheels or is it specifically the caramel one and the rubber ones won't work? Do they have them as attachments for something like a rotary tool (ie dremel?) or is it it's own tool?
still LOLing at grinding the strips down to nothing with the wheel.. classic

![]() Try a bodywork supply store or go to an automotive spray painter / panel beater to buy one because most automotive shops like repco or autobarn wont stock them. I have seen them at Bunnings though so it is worth giving them a try. |
