Default VS Exec - Air Con Issue

Hi Guys,

As per my other thread, I was out driving the parents VS Exec today, and I had the airconditioning running, but it seems to be not working as well as it should. The ambient temperature outside is hovering around the 34 degree mark, and I had the temperature control on full cold, and the fan speed on the highest setting, but the air coming out of the vents was only cool, not ice cold at all. I think its been like this for a while now, as it is definately not as cold as my old VS Berlina. I believe that the heater tap is ok, as the pipes going to the heater core are cold. The compressor still cuts in fine, but even the pipes under the hood aren't ice cold, or have any moisture on them, they are just cool.

The car is coming up for 12 years old, and has never had anything done to the airconditioning system, so would I be right in assuming that perhaps it just needs a new receiver dryer and regas of the system? I can't see any leakage of oil around any of the connections especially around the compressor or any of the connections... I'm just hoping that its not leaking behind the dash, as the cost vs value of the car makes it hardly worth repairing...

Any ideas would be welcome.
