I'm finaly getting around to changing my coolant, radiator hoses and thermostat.
In my manual (not a gregory's) it has flushing instructions using a compersor and stuff.
I was hoping to use a hose to flush the system so if anyone could davise me on how to do this it would be great.
Note: the coolant is pritty rust so I want to give it a very good flush.
Thanks

Thanks great How To.
One more quick question is there any merit to buying new radiator and heater hoses?
OK got every thing I need for the job.
One of the reasons I'm changing my coolant is that it was a bit low the other day so I think I might have a slow leak. What I was thinking of doing was flushing the system changing the thermostat and radiator cap then filling it with water (not coolant) and getting the system pressure tested. Is this a good idea???
Does anyone know if its possible to get a free pressure test and where to get it?
The water pump seal won't like running with plain water very much (the coolant is a lubricant for the seal) so, no it's not a good idea to run plain water. Why not get it pressure tested first? You can often spot leaks anyway, without the pressure test. The coolant will dry, leaving brown stains where it has leaked from.
There a pellets you can put in to lubricate the pump.
The tablets for the cooling system that you get from Holden are just crushed up walnut shells and they are added to block any minor leaks in the cooling system.
