what kind of oil to use?

hey all 5k service coming up soon so just wondering what wattage ppl
would use for the oil my car has 145,XXX on the clock any recomendations on oil?

I've had my car for 5 years and 120,000km and always use whatever 20w/50 oil is on special including house brands plus a mid quality filter - usually Valvoline if on spec. Change oil every 6 months and filter every year. Engine is as fresh as when I bought the car and apart from a waterpump and 1 set of plugs and leads the engine hasn't been touched.
My opinion is that all oils must meet an industry standard - be it SG or whatever and this is shown on the label so you are more or less guaranteed that the oil meets this standard. Expensive oils usually have expensive claims and advertising costs which its impossible to prove or disprove.
But in the end its up to you.
