Gearbox stuck in high gear!

hey guys

well i just finished my engine rebuild today and found out that the memcal for the camshaft is faulty and does not work (check engine light always on and thermo fan always on, which means it gone) but cpu is still fine. while im waiting on the new one i left the faulty memcal in the cpu and went for a test run. i noticed that the gearbox was always in high gear and wouldn't shift up or down! and that the speedo does not work . could this be all related to the faulty memcal? its also a VS V6

well the transmission sounds like its in limp home mode (always in 3rd) which could probably just be the memcal (they might have given you a manual memcal?).
but the speedo shouldnt have anything to do with that, not that i can think of anyway.
did you pull any of the error codes when the engine light came on to see what it was saying was wrong?

yeah i tried to get the error codes but because the memcal is gone it wont even store any codes. i tried an other chip (stock chip) which made it run worse and then got the code 12 which meant it was fine, but dident take it for a drive because it was misfiring and nearly stalling cause of the camshaft. i hope its the memcal. yeah its weird with the speedo aswell i dident touch anything to do with it!
