Default V8 engine into V6 ute, engine smoothness.

    Hi

I have a vr vs ute 99 model, and my partner has a vx sedan, they both have the same enginge and the vx is a lot smoother ride and idle better and quiter too, i want to know can i put a vx v8 engine in a vs for that smoother ride or is it all in the electronics and that, that makes it a smoother ride.

how much would it cost to put v8 in vr engine bay.

also is it illegal to have a blower sticking out of your bonnet for air intake, i thought it was illegal but i saw one driving on the road the other day.

    thanks guys

I assume your talking about the 5.7L V8 in the VX (Gen3) If so its very difficult and will be expensive... (very little change from $5k if you had all the parts). The VR/VS came out with 5L engines which are very different...

Put it this way, its cheaper to sell your ute as is (v6) and buy a VX ute with a 5.7L engine.

    Cheers

    He's talking about a 5.7L.

from what I can see, the missuses car runs smoother, his car is a bit rough, i'd be looking at ignition and fuel for a start, then on to air intake and exhaust and continue from there.

then again if you drop an 8 in... smiles all round.
