Default VR on superlows, need guards rolled?

    Hey fellows,
im getting superlow later this week and i was talking to my mechanic mate and he said i need to get my guards rolled. My mate said it is simple and an easly to do it yourself. I checked my car and the fronts have already been rolled and i just got to do the back ones. My question is, should i roll the bak guards myself or get it professional done???
Any help would be great, cheers.

depends what width tyre your running. if you get an adjustable panhard rod you can get away with up to 235 tyres without scrubbing. unless you have a full car load and hit a big bump or take a corner real hard then it will scrub even with rolled guards.

Fronts should be fine. Only the back so thats $100-$120. I wouldn't bother. Have you got 245,255's or something?

7.5's...? That's what I have no need to get your gaurds rolled. Maybe get a adjustable panhard rod.

adjustable panhard rod will allow you to recentre the diff, instead of it being offset to one side when lowered

i paid $185 for my adjustable panhard rod. You really need one of these if your going to ultra lows, but for ssl or sl its not crucial (but recommended).

i mean for 120 bucks max to get your guards rolled its a pretty cheap safe guard just incase... most wheel and tire places can do it..

and as mentiond the panhard rod is the go pick em up for under 200

let us know how you go unkown.
im still not sure because if i bet my guards rolled and they crack the paint im going to be very ****ed off. especially because i will then need a full respray.

so if a panhard rod works. i will get one of them.
also my mate said a panhard rod would make u use tyres more often because of camber wear. is this true?
    thanks for all the help.

    Hey mate,

Ill try to explain what the panhard rod does, and why you need to change it...

Ok basically you've got the diff in the back which has the wheels connected to it. Now obviously you cant bolt the diff to the body/chassis as you would have no suspension...
So you put suspension springs between the body/chassis and the diff... So basically the diff bumps around when you hit bumps.

Now if you can imagine the body sitting on some springs which are connected to the diff, there is nothing actually stopping the diff from moving side to side...
So you have a panhard rod connected from one side of the diff, the the body of the car on the opposite side.
If you've ever seen the V8s you may have seen when they break a panhard rod... and you can see the wheels moving side to side under the car. thats what happens with no panhard rod.

I have my gaurds rolled aswell as a pan hard rod, got the gaurds done profesionaly and diddnt have a problem with paint cracking.

Also, I have 19s with 245's on them, no scrubing at all..... Not even with a full car load.
