Vr : black smoke coming out of exhaust

i have a 94 vr auto and recently over the last month it blows out a puff of black smoke when i start the the car and also when im putting my foot down all the way on the pedal when moving it blows heeps of black smoke out well thats wat someone told me. but if i drive normal the car seems to be fine. can someone please help
