Too hard to put a figure on that car man, you will get whatever the person wants to pay for it.
Hey guys,
I have a bit of an issue at the moment im trying to work out.
My current ride is a 93 VR V6 Man Wagon. Its done 140,000kms.
Over the last 6 months ive spent just on $13k getting the car PERFECT. Basically all serviceable parts have been replaced/upgraded. Its got a new exhaust system (pacemarker extractors), lowered on ultra low suspension (done properly with lowered strust, adjust panhard rod etc etc). Brand new high performance clutch, 18" Rims with new tires etc etc
Now, i had planned in the upcoming weeks to spend another $8k or so on engine work to get it to around 220rwkw.
However, it just seems like so much money on a VR commodore. So im thinking of maybe selling it, and using that money to buy a VT/VX Gen3 manual.
Heres a link to my ride...

How much do you reckon its worth? Obviously not going to get anywhere near what i put in, but would i get $7k back? maybe more/less?
I mean the suspension/wheels/exhaust i just put on a few weeks ago cost me $4500.
Cheers, Errol.

Advertise it for $8K and then take a decent offer under that. or sell the parts that you can replace like wheels and springs etc and sell the car as a stocker for $3000
no longer a hoon by association - the commodore is gone
wats been done to it?? just looks like a wagon with exhaust mate. nice car but
For that sort of car to get decent money you need to have lots of time to sell - I'd allow 2 or 3 months minimum otherwise you will be losing too much money. However it all depends on how you view things - this car has given you heaps of enjoyment plus I'd guess it has taught you a lot as well. The $13K you've spent would have probably otherwise gone on some electronic gizmo thats out of date once you open the packet so really the money involved would have been spent somehow or other.
As Nicko says, go for $8K and negotiate. Don't think about the lost $$ as its only money and there is plenty more out there to be earned.....plus the carrot is a gen 3.
Good Luck.
