Hi,
Does anyone have any idea why the engine would stall when the accelerator is pressed? I fixed the idle air intake problem but am now thinking fuel lines may have air in them. any thoughts?
I just changed the fuel filter as well.
have you checked you error codes? there may be something else not working, and hopefully there'll be an code logged
same code as before...35, Idle speed error. I cleaned the IAC valve and still no luck....
replace it
As I said in your other thread the IAC valve is on top of the throttle body on an ecotec, it is black and a cylindrical shape (round but not round as in a ball)
I tried to attach a proper diagram but it only lets you use the same attachment once and I have used it before and I can't find the thread in which I used it before. I don't know why but I never can find anything I'm searching for on this forum. It is in a thread called IAC motor but when I type that into the search bar it doesn't come up. Anybody know the secret to a successful search?
With that out of the way, here is another picture I found on ebay. Only the bigger half is showing when installed.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.
I cleaned the iac valve...thanks for your help in finding it. Now its telling me the manifold air flow sensor...im guessing thats the black switch near the intake filter.....is this a common problem?what should i do next?
IAC Motor
i use google to search
"what im searching site:www.forums.justcommodores.com.au"
lol yep works a treat,
so now the manifold air sensor is coming up with errors...what should i do? I replaced it with another one from the same model and it still wouldnt work. Iits driving me crazy!
Check for leaks in the air ducting - sounds like you might be getting unmetered air into the compustion process - what I mean is, air is getting to the throttle body that is not going through the air flow meter.
tps will log those codes aswell.
they don't allway's show up as tps (codes)
Research has shown that men usually sleep on the right side of the bed.
Even in our sleep we happen to be right.

ok so to check the air ducting i would remove it and push water through it to check for leaks? and the tps...any clues on how to check that?
It was the fuel pump, dodgy fuel from shell of all places. It looked like charcoal. Not going there again. Thanks to everyone for their help. I would never have picked it as it was replaced only 2 years ago...not a happy camper!
