There are aftermarket systems. They use a seperate remote and a come with just the actuator, needs a bit of work to get them working with the mechanisms. Would it not just be easier to fix your existing one? May just need a bit of lubricant.
thanks heaps kopper69 the silicone spray worked

Where do you spray the lubricant? Down the lock or take the door trims off? Both my front and rear passenger doors refuse to lock automatically. Seems to be something that always happens in cold weather.

Yes indeed, where do you spray?
I spray the lock itself that you would press if you were inside and locking the door. Spray all around the lock so that it will run down. The sticky lock seems to happen to me every year when it starts to get cold and that always works for me. Worth a try anyway, next step is to pull the door trim off and start lubricating all the moving parts.
it's really easy to replace a stuffed actuator if that is the problem. The entire kit is about $30. pull trim off and replace. An instal from scratch is a little trickier! did it in the VL, not much room in those doors!
is there any perticular lube to use for this? my rear drivers side door doesnt lock or unlock vie central locking, i hear the motor going and feel the lock try to move but it doesnt, ive had the door trim off and cant see anything getting stuck or anything broken.
I have had good results with this stuff. It dries clean, no residue. CRC DRY GLIDE TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

I just removed the trim from the VS, wriggled some wires and now it's all better behind the driver. This sort of worked for behind the front passenger but still is a bit temperamental so some CRC should fix it up.
What about WD-40?
Will that do the job?
WD40, CRC, Silicone spray... all the same thing.
