how do you take the front and rear rotors off a vr commodore, i tried to bang it out but no go, could someone please give me some help asap
Fronts just remove the blake pads and calliper frrom memory and the rotor pulls off.
Rear should be similar but release the handbrake first, so don't do it on a hill.
grab the front rotor on either side, "3 and 9 oclock"
and shake it out, failing that if its going to be thrown away anyway get a short steel mallet (about $10 from Kmart or Bunnings) and bash the ever loving shizzle out of its nizzle 3,9,3,9 etc.
also get some Wd40 or something behind it for a while that may help.
had the same problem, what i did was, removed the caliper and pads then soaked the hub/studs in cheap $2 degreaser let it settle in for around 5 mins??
then grabbed my handy-dandy sledge hammer and belted that rotor off, hit one part of the rotor then rotate it then hit it again etc etc untill the bast. comes off lol
same story with the rears, remove calipers and make sure to release the handbrake.
What is the minimum thickness of the rear rotors on a vr?
