Default getting to the arial motor

hey all i have a 93 VR acclaim and it has a motorised arial. Now the problem is that a month ago the arial broke- so i just pulled the whole lot out, including the knotched rod thing that sits inside to push it up.

BUT now every time i start/turn off, the motor still wirs away and sounds awful lol. I wanna get to the motor and unplug it (i plan to get a new NON motorised one later), to i can have peace and quiet, but i dont know how to get the dash off :P

me and a m8 tried b4 but we just found another wall of plastic and more cables... this is behind the glove box btw.

even if there is a link to a DIY thread could someone post pls?

    cheers.

Im not 100% sure what our saying there, but if your after the actual motor its under the wheel arch, you have to take the plastic out from above the front wheel, its only a few screws, its easiest to take the front wheel off, but not completely nessacary, if you turn the wheel out.

You can get replacement motorised ones from Supercheap for around $80 or so. Installation takes a bit of fiddling to get the brackets right and get the aerial vertical.

Yeah, not sure if you've got this fixed by now, but I changed my aerial by reaching in through the wheel arch plastic. Easy to get to if you have the wheel turned the right way
