u can use the vt auto in a vs, u just need to change some plugs around and same withthe diff. The engine needs to have the drivers side exhaust manifold changed to the VS one and the inlet manifold changed to the vs one so that the vs themp sensors can be used.
i have done a vx conversion in our daily i used vx v6 motor and auto box had to modify the exhaust on the drivers side as the both the vx and vs one was differant due to the bellhousing on the vx box very tight fit only have about 3mm clearance around the steering rack your better off using a vs box and i kept the vs harness just have to add a temp sensor to the themostat housing as vt onwards dont have it they only got a coolant temp sensor and the ecu sends the reading to the gauge and if u use a vt vx box you need to modify the selector and reverse it
illusion is on the ball, i am running a VT engine in my vs, tapped my original sender and all good. used my VS auto so didnt have to modify the exhaust.
