Default HID? White light headlights and fog lights...

I know we have all seen them on BMW, Lexus, Merc and Honda's but has anybody actully fitted these lights on to a commodore???

I think they are called HID kits or something?
Anybody know of where you can buy them from???

Thanks

there are a few members that have em fitted to there cars. you can get kits (try ebay) there are some cheapish chinese kits, some people say the bulbs don't last. or you cna get genuine phillips kits i think. they are illegal to fit on a car that doesn't have em from the factory but thats only the law.

yes they do, they make HID kits to suit different bulb styles. buy the kit to suit your standard bulb, fit HID bulb inplace of standard bulb, mount inverter, splice in the wiring and your done basically

pretty sure autobarn has them for $499 for the whole kit. im not too sure whether the price will vary for different types of globes though.

H.I.D. - please correct me if I am wrong but I thought that ALL such lights had to be of the dipping variety otherwise they are illegal. Believe that they are more expensive than the e-bay (off the shelf) variety

HID on any car that doesn't have the appropriate reflector is illegal buddy, and it needs a washer jet installed or something... that said, egay or ur local trusted auto parts store should be able to provide, and some members as said have fitted them.
if ur after a legal option, tri looking for standard h4 globes in the range of 6000-7000 degreees Kelvin (6000K) this is not a temperature rating, but a measure of the colour of light produced. higher up and the lights aren't as bright or powerful, but produce a blue glow as seen on Mercs, Beemers etc. go lower, and the light becomes the standard halogen yellow glow.
either way ya choose to go mate good luck. and go with the HID's, maybe put up a DIY installation for other members to follow
cheers

The K (Kelvin) ratings ARE a rating of colour temperature mate.
