Default VR Roadworthy Problems in Cairns

Hey!
I went to a mechanic today to get a new roadworthy, because of the following things i didn't get it...

1. Hoodlining needs repairing
2. Front Z-bar bushes worn
3. rear engine oil leak
4. upper rear trailing arm bushes worn

Since i'm not a native speaker, could anyone please explain, what all these things, except the engine oil leak, are?
Is the Hoodlining the cloth overhead, that has come loose?
How much you recon the bushes gonna be and where do i find them? You got any pictures of it?

thanx so far

greetings Will

The hoodlining is probably falling down and could be a hazard if it obscures the drivers vision. Pay to fix ($300 in Cairns) or DIY in 'how to' section for about $60
Z-bar bushes cost about $80 and you can replace yourself although its a bit of work
rear engine oil leak - if its not real bad then degrease just before you take it back but if its bad then you will need a new rear seal OR some stop leak in the oil which may slow the leak.
trailing arm bushes - easier to by new arms from Ebay - about $70 for the pair.

cheers mate!
i'm alresdy fixing the hoodlining, it was indeed falling down but it was never actually a hazard.... i gonna degrease and wash the engine anyways so the only issue is gonna be the trailing arms. is it hard to exchange them?

seeya

Ring around in Cairns - Supercheap, Repco and some suspension places for prices on new arms - they are simple to change. Maybe wreckers will have some that are still good - don't forget to throw some "stop leak" or "stop smoke" into the oil.....does no harm and will make engine quiter and leak less oil. Good Luck

1. Hoodlining needs repairing DONE
2. Front Z-bar bushes worn
3. rear engine oil leak DONE put some smoke stop in...
4. upper rear trailing arm bushes worn DONE

so, how do i get these z-bars out? got an 24 and 30 spanner and already loosened the 24'er nut but how do i get the big one loose?

new arms came 133 bucks @repco, the other parts something around 70, including a new auto trans pan gasket, which i needet as well...

including some new tools it was around 260$$ altogeteher.. way cheaper than the mechanic.

btw, do i have to pay anything if i go back for the 2nd check for the roadworthy?
