calling all vs owners how many km's out of a full tank of fuel.
i just upgraded from a vn v6 to vs v6 series 2 esteem commodore my vn i could get 440 km's out of the 63 litre tank and now in the vs i only get 330km's out of a 59 litre tank.i have just replaced the spark plugs, oil, oil filter and air filter so far.i have got it booked into auto leaders to do a diagnostic test to see whats going on i suggested to auto leaders to replace the o2 sensor and he said if the light is not on the dash its working fine.the car has 175000 kms on the clock.
gidday m8 yer 330 is about right i have a vsv6 and i keep it serviced etc and thats about all i get my vl used to get a fair bit more and my m8s vt with a slightly bigger fuel tank gets a hell of alot more than me so much for the ecotecs
sometimes o2 sensors can start failing with out sending an error code so u can still benefit from changing it, but when a mates went he got more like 200kmn out of a tank
but that is bad economy i got more from my vs clubby when it was stock
Generally 350-450 in town and 550-600 highway...same as ragrim except I use E10. There are 2 O2 sensors so it costs twice as much on a VS. Mine is all original at 210,000km except for the waterpump. Maybe you're driving a bit more 'spirited' in the VS.
My engine is stock and I get 400 plus around town and 650 on the highway.
Sydney to Tenterfield or Sydney to almost Balina on 1 FULL tank. Thats not driving like a granny either. Perhaps try injector cleaner, I usually run a bottle of that before a long trip. Also check you air flow meter and throttle body are clean.
im getting about 220 out of 25 liters around town, driving pretty hard too (havent worked out full tank wise yet) thats from point of putting fuel in to when fuel light comes on....but it also comes doem to how many k's its done...im lucky as mine is at 78500k's atm
