Default Fuel pump issue, or fuel line blockage? not sure help!

Hey guys. i have a really erratic sounding, sick idle in my VS V6. its not erratic in the fact that it changes on the tacho, but it is still very noticable in sound. Im not sure if it is related but also when its warm it takes a bit to start, and when it does puffs out some black smoke. ive got new injectors, new tps, new fuel pressure regulator, new fuel filter, new coolant temp sensor, and a new iac valve. still no change. also i lose a bit of power at high revs, not sure if this is related also. could it be a fuel pump issue? or fuel line issue, maybe a return line blocked? or maybe could the pcv valve have anything to do with it?
any help would be FANSTASTIC!! cheers

Sounds like it could be ignition related if you've done all the fuel side. Maybe new leads and plugs for a start would help.

done the coil? done the ignition moduel? as this loses its resistance when warm. I`ve got the same problem with my VR V8 and have done the same as you $$$ wasted and latley the fuel pump is making more noise so I think its about to s#$t itself so look at that to. also the possiblity of worn valve stem seals is a real likely-ness.

not sure if this is of any significance but the idle totally changes when i take the engine cap off? what could this indicate?

i had a bit of an eratic idle and i turned out to be a fuel hose leak(lose clamp) on the back of the fuel rail. But sounds like you may have bigger issues than that. done a compression check yet, that may reveal somthing.

yer as above check compression, check for fault codes, check plugs and their gaps as well as the color of them. Check for coolant loss's and air bubbles, check leads and DFI, check that all the leads to the injectors are clipped on, fuel filter, fuel pump noise, inlet manifold gaskets, air filter, maf (make sure its not in backwards)
let us know how you go

That could be a good clue as it shows that when the the crankcase is not under positive pressure it idles OK - and the PCV system directs engine blowby into the intake manifold via the throttle body (I think).....so maybe if the PCV is stuffing up it is feeding too much or not enough air in and stuffing up the mixture??....The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve could be blocked though I'm not sure whether this would cause your problem. Not sure how they are checked on the Ecotec but it sure would be worth following up.

Did some Googling and found this:http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/pcv-replace/index.html

    It should help. Good Luck.
