Long story short, my car was over heating on the way home from work and I pulled over and there was no wtaer or coolent at all! There is a pipe that runs into a 'connector' which has a further 3-4 pipes/tubes/ running into it. One of the pipes was broken off this 'connector', it actually broke the plastic, it didn't simply blow off. All the water and coolent had come out of the now hole and gone everywhere. I just wanted to know what the plastic c'onnecter' is called and if they are available at stores like supercheap, etc. Thanks alot.

WRONG SECTION
Its not that hard, seriously. Look and read what section you are one before you click New Thread/Topic.
long story short, learn how to post in the correct section. MY RIDE is for posting info/pics on your car, not problems with it.
Moved.
can you post a pic up so we can see what your talking about?
Sounds like the heater tap to me.
hakhawk, this isn't 'my ride' dip****. IT's "VR - VS Holden Commodore (1993 - 1997)
Talk about anything relating to the VR - VS Holden Commodore.". Since my car is a VS (sorry I forgot to mention that) I guess I can discuss it in the section that is titled 'Talk about anything relating to the VR - VS Holden Commodore'. But thanks for your helpful comment.
you dont want to get smart with me mate, i moved this thread from the my ride section.
i'll let the dip**** comment slide this timeDate User Name Action Post IP Address
21:42, 22nd Sep 2008 hakhawk Thread moved to 'VR - VS Holden Commodore (1993 - 1997)'.
LMAO, I was thinking while typing it, I bet a mod moved this and I'll sound like a dick. Well, if you can't laugh at yourself. I do apologise, I guess I'm just ****ed that my car broke down and that your reaction along with 1991_Vn2nV's seemed a little harsh considering the seriousness of the issue that was resolved so easily.
Thanks
we're just sick of seeing so many people not posting in the right sections, its not like its hard to look at what section you're in before posting. its amazing how many people dont learn.
and as VrWagz1 said, it sounds like you're describing the heater tap, they go for about $35-40 from memory at any parts store. just go in and ask for a "heater tap" to suit a VS
Thanks mate. I think my problem was I followed a direct link from google to the 'my ride' section and didn't actually start at the forum homepage. I also realise the slight annoyance of wrong section posting as I am a member of several other fora. I'll go try get a heater tap tomorrow. Thanks again, and thanks for being understanding, it's people like you that keep these forums alive and helpful.
Cheers again
going to completely keep out of this "wrong section" thing!
BUT -
if your car has climate control (as opposed to just regular manual ac) it's a little bit different - or that's what the guy at the autoshop told me. be specific when you order it (if they're all the same, it can't hurt).
oh and be sure to follow the correct filling/bleeding procedure to avoid further problems with air locks and overheating![]()
Thanks, I'm guessing that means I - someone lacking the slightest mechanical skills - should not attempt to install it myself. By install I mean unscrew the hose clamps and rescrew them onto the new heater tap... then fill up.
not at all, just cruise on over the HOWTO section and read the thread about bleeding coolant systems.
