    Lightbulb VS Wagon Electrical Issues

    Hi All,

I have an issue with my VS Wagon at the moment and coming into summer i really want to get it fixed up.

The problem is that the fan inside the car decides when to work and when to not. It normally doesnt work on hot days until at least 20 mins into the journey (if at all) I have replaced the Fan Speed Resistor (firstly with one from Just Commodore Spares and secondly with a brand new one from Holden) This didnt seem to fix it. I have also heard that the Ignition relay can cause some issues with the blower so i have replaced that too but that didnt work.

Before i go and spend a fair wack of money at the auto electrician does anyone have any other ideas?

You need to follow a logical sequence of checks. First determine whether power is reaching the switch then check to see if power is reaching the relay and the fan speed resistor pack and finally check to see if power is then going to the fan motor. It could also be a dodgy fuse or a dodgy fan relay. Remember that high speed bypasses the resistor pack.
If you need a wiring diagram PM me and I'll post one....otherwise you could be stabbing in the dark.
