Default ecotec inlet manifold on buick?

    Hey,
    Quick question:

Will an ecotec inlet manifold bolt up to a VR buick motor with minimum hassle?

    Cheers

    short answer,no

the vr block is i think around ~10mm wider, so it will sit in the vally ok, but wont bolt to the heads.. hakhawk will be able to confirm thou, he's toying around with buick cross ecotec

block is more around 20mm wider.

you would need to bolt the ecotec heads on as the port layout is completely different. then you need to make spacers to fill the gap of the block width(this isnt as easy as it looks, nothing lines up straight), then get a custom camshaft made to suit the new IEIEIE firing of the ecotec vs IEIEEI of the pre-ecotec.

in short, stick with the buick manifold, or buy a whole ecotec, unless you're ready to do the hard yards and spend $$ on getting it right.

The quickest and best way to get an ecotec manifold in there is just put the whole motor in 50x less time, easier and cheaper, then you get the heads too
