Default How to Remove Outer Handles and Mirrors (to paint)

As the title says, i want to take off my handles and side mirrors and paint them to match the rest of the car. Can anyone tell me the safe, easy way to do it?

Mirrors: 1 screw on the plastic cover (same position as where the mirror is but inside the door), undo that... take the plastic off then 2(?) bolts holding it in

Outer handles: Take off your door trim, then take out a pin that holds the handle together and it should all come apart pretty easy then just wiggle it out...

i know its not extremely detailed but thats pretty much the idea you will know what i mean when it comes to it

Thanks, ill try it next weekend.

Are there any wires inside the mirrors, and how would you go about that, because mine has electric mirrors.

More difficult with electric mirrors. Not totally sure about VS, but i know VRs plugs are lower in the door, so you'll need to remove the door trim aswell.

After you pull the cover off (with the 1 screw in it, mentioned above) you'll know weather or not you can unplug it from there, or if you need to remove the door trim.

^Yeah, that cable in the door handle can unplug (did it when i changed the speakers last week), but pulling it up through the door and out the top would be difficult to put it back in, so hopefully there will be an easier way. I might just cover the car in newspaper and paint on a calm day. Anyway i'll try it tomorrow hopefully.
