Digital Dash

Hey Everyone,

Im looking at putting in a digital dash in the ute and i was after so who, what and where i would find these...

I've had a look at dakota digital, but i was hoping that there would be another option just to make sure i get what i want...

Any help would be awesome

Well if i were you i'd just go to the wreckers and look for an old Calais from VN-VS, have to be lucky tho..

Likewise you can't use VR/S dashs in VN/Ps.


Theres plenty of full dashes on ebay.

didnt realise he meant ONLY lvl 3...I have a lvl2 dash in mine, my bad...but vp dash colours suck...better off just finding the VR/VS

lol the colours are basically the same but this is in the VR/VS section anyway.

Level 2 is just a simple swap, but its not a digital dash is it

If going from VR/VS to VN/VP or vice versa you can only swap individual gauges unless you swap all the circuitry and that over as well. Its easier to just stick to VR/VS or VN/VP depending on your model.

i had to swap all the circuits for mine to work...or it would've flamed...But my dash (VP) had the green frame around the numbers, where as the VR/VS is plain

i have a VR V8 with the level 2 dash, would the level 3 dash from a VS V6 Berlina fit and work properly? Would there be any modifications to be made?

Yes you can plug a VS L3 dash into a VR - just the tacho will be out (V6 - V8).

If the 4th plug is in the car's wiring the trip computer should work too. Else youwill need to wire in the trip computer too.

Just for completeness (tacho) i might take my time and hunt for a nice VR/VS V8 level 3 dash to replace the level 2.

In the meantime i'll pull her out to see if there's a 4th plug there. My guess is there won't be, but heck i'll be hoping to find a pro who can help me out with it.

If the plug is not there it will cost you about $20 from a wrecker to buy it. I've not done a VR L3 convert before so you may or may not need a control plug too
