    Default VS III V8 Ute - Replacing Fuel Pump, Any Tips?

    My VS III V8 Ute died today and the NRMA guys said he was 99% sure it is the Fuel Pump.......so has anyone got any useful hints for replacing it?

    Any help is appreciated.

    i paid $300 parts & labour taking the vr v6 to the mechanic, fair bit earlier but i expect series III v8 has in tank pump as well. involves taking the tank out of the car which is tall in the ute so u have to get the car higher which requires a hoist.

    Yep thats exactly the same price i got quoted from an auto elec to take out and replace the pump,he also said the tank has to come out.

    omfg rip, it took me an hour to put a 255lt/hr pump in my ute and the pump only cost 120 bucks

    some people have more time and resources on their hands, while others prefer to use genuine holden parts.

    Tank doesnt have to come out, fuel does though. You can do it yourself, no special tools required. If I had to replace it again I would just pay someone to do it. Getting the fuel out of the tank was a pain for a start and lost fuel in the process. Depends on the person.

    holden don't make a fuel pump big enough for my demands
