Hi Guy's,
I need some help with cruise.
I own a V6 VR exec with cruise for around town driving & a V8 Range Rover fitted with a 4.6 engine with manual gearbox for the weekends to get away and relax. I gutted out the existing Engine Management in the Rangie and fitted the VN-VP V8 Holden Delco Engine Management with the VR V8 manual computer & fitted a speed sensor in the speedo cable. Then I had it dynoed & remapped and it runs great.
I recently fitted a VN/VP cruise to the Rangie as thewere giving me a hard time. I fitted the unit no prob's, I checked out the Binnacle switch for the cruise it uses and ON/OFF switch to engage, SET & RES buttons. The VN/VP didn't use a BCM,
I fitted the VR Indicator Stock with cruise control as it was easy to mount. After installing everything including diodes the crusie failed to engage.
After ripping out my hair that I don't haveI work out that the ON/OFF switch on the stork is not the same as the VN/VP's ON/OFF switch to engage.
It appears from what I can determine that it is a signal switch that sends a signal to BCM.
I have got another Cruise Control Actuator, BCM & Loom from a VR, can anybody help me determine if I am right and what the BCM does and can I hook it all up. From what I have also read the BCM has something to do with ithe ignition on the VR if so can I get around it as I want only to get the cruise to work. Or do I have to refert back to the same switches as the VN/VP.
I hope someone can help me overcome this hurdle which seems bigger than the conversion of the ECM system
Many thanks & cheers,
