Help!!

need help guys

was driving my 1993 vr wagon thursday night on the highway, and then my stero turned off then turned back on then there was a click sound, and a blue and white light under my dash then everthing died, i lost streeing had no brakes no lights anywere and no horn i could not start my car again and had to get it towed home. Just wondering if anyone might know what happend to my baby any idears would be great.

have you checked the battery to see if its flat? fuses? by the sounds of blue and white light maybe something shorted???

sounds like a blown fuse to me...

check all the fuses and hope you havent fried your ecu!

one cause could be shorting behind the stereo if you did a bodgie job wiring the H/U

yer just check basics first battery, alternator, that flash under the dash would of been more then likly a fuse probably and then go from there

Yeah, sounds like a big short has caused a fuse to go up in smoke. I'd be less worried about finding the fuse, and more worried about what caused it to blow in the first place Sounds like a pretty major wiring issue!

Start with the things you have worked on most recently, and work back from there.

i think ozzie has hit the nail on the head with the radio. Had this once when a wire from the radio was left uncovered. Just takes a bump in the road for the wire to arch out on some metal and pop goes your fuses - good luck with the ecu.
