ok i THINK this is a body control module issue ...

what is happening is that the central locking when i press it, locks then unlocks (e.g. the solenoids go down and then back up)

now im not sure if it matters or not but i only have the front solenoids connected and as its a ute thats what i plan to do.

the wiring loom is from a vr wagon and its installed in my FB Ute.

the other issue is that the interior light is staying on all the time .... now i believe the door buttons for the interior light are working fine because if the door is open and you press the button on the key it wont do anything, but then if you close the door then the central locking will work (down and back up)

so theres a few issues, the locks and the interior light....

i am guessing that these are all related to the bcm but im not really sure ... one thing i do know is its not the interior light switch on the headlight switch as i can turn this on and off when the bcm is disconnected.

so i guess the first question is, will a wagon bcm work in a ute or do i need to get a ute bcm and key ?

if the bcm is not an issue then what would be causing it to behave like it is ?
