    Default Faded Black Rubber Moulds

Does any one have a method for sprucing up those black faded rear quarter window rubber linings?

managed to pick up a complete set of chrome calais window lining for my VS but the rear quarter window rubbers are looking all faded and what not.

Just asking if any has attempted to give it a fresh lick of black, if so whats involved in prep work and what paint should i use?

I did a howto a while back on them.

I used rollbar and chassi paint then, but recently ive been using black vinyl dye and plastic parts paint. very good results, weather tests so far indicate it will last well.

Best bet for prep would be to rub it all back a a bit with 600 grit wet n dry with soapy water, prepsol it, fill out those pitted areas, rub those back, prepsol again, adhesion promoter, and then the vinyl dye.

unfortunatly painting is the only way to do them properly without replacing them with new ones.

the vinyl dye/plastic parts paint is perfect for it mate, goes on easy, it's got a good visco and it's not full gloss.

a few nice easy coats and you'll be right.
