Power Antenna

Can i change a normal antenna to a automatic one ?
if i get the motor and that then the buttons for the inside?

yea it is pretty easy just take the guard liner for the front left side out then look up there and there should be 2 10mm nuts i think for memory undo them unplug the wire from the stereo then bolt the new electric motor up run the wires back through the hole plug it back into the stereo install the buttons intot he spare switch covers and i think there is another plug behind the stereo somewere for the power otherwise is it pretty straight forward

You can, but why would you want to They just break. I ripped the power antenna out of my VQ and replaced it with the manual aerial out of my VP.

But yes, it can be done. You can hook it up to your head unit, so it extends when you use the radio, and retracts when you switch to your changer or CD.

It all depends on weather you get a factory fitted one from wreckers, or if your fitting an aftermarket one? If your fitting one from wreckers, you'll need to know the correct wiring procedure, should'nt be that hard, but if your getting an aftermarket one, you'll get instructions! Let us know which way your going to go

I put a switch in my glovebox so the antenna wasnt goin up and down all the time but I could still retract it if the car was in a dodgy place like carparks etc
In my car I used the factory antenna module that does all the timing and handles the up /down power...the bcm does it in a vs but Im not sure if it would be easier to install the separate small module .
